Cousin, once removed
Let’s assume you and I are cousins. One of each of our parents are siblings therefore we’re first cousins. You have a child. That child is my first cousin, once removed, because he or she is one generation removed from you and I. Your child and my child would be second cousins. Also, the siblings of our grandparents would be grand aunts or uncles and the siblings of our great grandparents would be great aunts or uncles. |
